Five Photos, Five Stories (Day 1)

Look Up

My mind spins, eyes close,

Heart beats. Wrong. Too fast. Can’t breathe.

Look up. Perspective.

I’ve been nominated by the lovely Norah Colvin in a Five Photos, Five Stories (in five days) challenge. And I accept. So here is my Day 1 photo, “Look Up”, with its accompanying haiku. Thanks, Norah, for giving me a wonderful way to use my creativity while I get back on my feet. I nominate AJ Prince to take on this fun photo challenge. I might have to send Dracula after her to, um, motivate her but that’s okay. He owes me a favor and she won’t mind.

The “rules” of the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge are:

1) Post a photo each day for five consecutive days.
2) Attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or a short paragraph. It’s entirely up to the individual.
3) Nominate another blogger to carry on the challenge. Your nominee is free to accept or decline the invitation. Just have fun.

  2. Oh Sarah. I’ve read your haiku in reverse order. Reading this ‘anxiety’ haiku now gives a sense of the serenity you have sought and achieved in your other pieces. You say you are not an expert, but these haiku you have written are beautiful. I know there is more than anxiety in what you are going through, but anxiety of and in itself is debilitating. I’m so pleased you took up this challenge while you “get back on your feet”. You have enriched our lives with beautiful images and words. Thank you. 🙂

    • Seeking serenity. I like the sound of that. It should be the title of a song or poem. Thank you for your compliment on my haiku. I am just playing around and having fun here at the Reef and I’m pleased as punch when somebody actually likes what I’ve written. 🙂 Thanks, again, for the nomination. I enjoyed this challenge so much.

  3. These have all been really great, your photos are stunning and your haikus – amazing. You should post pictures more often, I have loved them all. Thank you for the nomination, I’m working on my posts now!

    • Thanks, AJ. These are some of my favorite shots and I feel lucky (rather than, say, talented) to have gotten them. 🙂 I’m happy you’ve chosen to take up the challenge and can’t wait to see what you do with it!
