I saw this on Sacha Black’s Blog. It’s her “Writespiration” for this week. I couldn’t help it — I had to take this challenge. It is so cool. And I’m grateful to Sacha for introducing me to the site, One Word, which says:
Simple. Youβll see one word at the top of the following screen.
You have sixty seconds to write about it.
Click go and the page will load with the cursor in place.
Donβt think. Just write.
Below is what poured out in my minute. Try this exercise, bookmark this site, and remember, as with all good freewriting exercises, no editing allowed. And have fun.
One Word:
Silence
Silence. Beeping, hacking, coughing, talking, yelling, beeping. Fleeting moments. Time is gone. Walls close in. Hoping. Waiting. For silence.
OHHHHHHHHH I love it π how you came up with such genius in one minute I have no idea. Thanks for joining in, and I know…. I adore the site too! π

It was kind of on my mind… π This is tough (not being able to edit and posting for all to see) but fun. Thanks, Sacha.

I know – its uncomfortable isn’t it? It made me write a lot slower than normal as I wasn’t able to edit and didn’t want it to be rubbish!

I wrote quickly because it was uncomfortable — being timed. Maybe that’s why mine turned out the way it did! π
